Benny Bonsu is the first female Sports editor in the UK, who is the Head of Editorial for one of the world’s largest sports digital platform GiveMeSport. A renowned global sports broadcaster and producer based in London, Bonsu’s on-air assignments include BBC Worldservice focus on NBA, NFL and the English Premier League African athletes, NBA Global Games London for Sky Sports, BT Sports, face and voice of China’s premier sport brand and Dwyane Wade brand Li-Ning’s, producer of the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics Basketball, voice of BBC Sport Today show and now the face and voice of GiveMeSport. Known for her wit and straight to the point interview style by the sporting world as the Oprah of sports.

In London, Bonsu has served as Sports Operations, and policies manager for LOCOG (London 2012 Olympics), managing teams and the budgets for the operations for the games and project managed the Sport accord conference 2012 with the IOC and International Federations.

She then went onto producing some of the biggest television shows across Africa for the Modern Times Group, alongside serving as one of the leading writers for “TRUE Africa” magazine covering all the African athletes across all sports. In 2018, she qualified as a Headteacher after also spending ten years in education, working with disadvantaged young people across London.

A graduate, she majored in Media and Advertising with International Business masters. Upon graduation, Bonsu’s industry experience included working with British Basketball Men’s team during their journey for qualifying for Euro basket, working as a media comms manager for the athletes.

Bonsu has also been part of the NBA, NBA UK and Africa family for the past 12yrs, where she actively supports the work they do across the continent and acts as the voice of the African and African American athletes in the league through the media and the go-to producer/ presenter for the athletes.

Bonsu is also a seasoned humanitarian who is recognized globally as an emerging leader with the courage to lead change on the African continent, UK and Asia using sport. Bonsu has a strong commitment to education, women and girls empowerment through sport.

Bonsu is a UN Women Ambassador for end violence against women; she also serves as a board of director for Basketball England and the Westminster Education board in London looking after 250 schools across the UK.
